RLS Metro Breaking News - Elizabeth firefighters battled a fast moving four-alarm fire on East Jersey Street this afternoon.

The blaze began at approximately at 3:30 p.m. at the three-story Elizabeth Housing Building located at 78 East Jersey Street.

The fast moving fire appears to have also spread to E.P. Colombia Auto Repair, located at 82 E. Jersey, directly next to the housing building.

A witness from the housing building said,” I was inside and heard a loud boom and it was chaos from there.”

According to an eyewitness, two people were taken to the hospital, one with burn injuries and another person be treated for smoke inhalation; authorities have not confirmed these accounts.
