nj.com/WABC - A normally busy cargo terminal at the Elizabeth Marine Terminal at the Port of New York and New Jersey is idle this afternoon as crews work to stop a gas leak, authorities said.
The leak, reported about 3:35 p.m., led to the evacuation of the Maher Terminal on Corbin Street, said Joe Pentangelo, a spokesman for the Port Authority police.
Elizabeth firefighters and the agency's emergency services unit are on scene, the spokesman said.
"The gas pipe leak is still active," Pentangelo said at 4:45 p.m.
No injuries have been reported.
