RLS Metro Breaking News - An Elizabeth Firefighter was credited for rescuing a family dog from a two-alarm fire on Aberdeen Road this afternoon.
The 2-alarm blaze that broke out at 47 Aberdeen Road originated in a second floor room of a one-family home at about 4:51 p.m., said Elizabeth Fire Chief Heitmeyer.
“Thanks to the quick response of Engine 6, the fire was contained to that room, Heitmeyer said.There was a total of five people and two dogs in the home at the time of the fire, authorities said.
The fire was extinguished shortly after 5 p.m. and determined to be accidental according to the chief.
