RLS Metro Breaking News - An Elizabeth Firefighter was credited for  rescuing  a family dog from a two-alarm fire on Aberdeen Road this afternoon.

The 2-alarm blaze that broke out at 47 Aberdeen Road originated in a second floor room of a one-family home at about 4:51 p.m., said Elizabeth Fire Chief Heitmeyer.

“Thanks to the quick response of Engine 6, the fire was contained to that room, Heitmeyer said. There was a total of five people and two dogs in the home at the time of the fire, authorities said.
