RLSMedia.com - An Elizabeth family was rescued from their Mary Street apartment early this morning after fire broke out.
Firefighters responded to the blaze that broke out at about 3:21 a.m. in the 1100 block of Mary Street. The blaze was placed under control in less than a half hour, Deputy Chief Lathey Wirkus said.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was quickly contained to the basement apartment and did not spread to any of the other five apartments in the building the chief said.
Wirkus said the fire has been determined to be accidental.
