NJ.com - NORTH BRUNSWICK - Demonstrating in eye-popping numbers the scale of July's North Brunswick warehouse fire, the county said almost 960 firefighters from 157 fire companies responded to the five-day blaze.
The county fire marshal said in a report released Monday that a tanker task force put 7.2 million gallons of water on the 1600 Livingston Ave. fire, and that 237 fire trucks and other apparatus responded.
Firefighters battled the blaze for five days, beginning early in the morning on July 22. About 200 people were evacuated, but eventually returned home.
There's still no word on what caused the five-alarm warehouse blaze. About 500,000 pounds of plastic went up, as well as linoleum, carpets and car parts.
